This thread will be used to plan out the house's entry for the battle plan event. Those who responded to the house wide call for participants are listed below. If the number of people proves ineffective, the number will be limited. All who participate are rewarded, so we will make an effort to keep all volunteers busy.

-Vardar
-Crix
-Lokasena

Our first order of business will be to toss around the general strengths and weakness's of Battle group Vanguard. We must take into account that the two houses will be fighting the same enemy, using the same battle group, whilst based upon two separate ships. This means we will have to take into account that in a real situation like this, the other house would not just let us take over and control even them. So in our BP, we will have to make some allowances that assume the Dinaariians are also issuing orders. This will be one of our twists.
Also, we will have to analyze the enemy forces so that we can pair up ships for either linear combat (ship-to-ship) style engagements, or for something more abstract.

So it's really, really easy to see that our single task force can kick the [Expletive Deleted] out of their entire fleet, so we don't have to worry about if we're gonna win or not. It's just a matter of how we're gonna win.

The PB's main asset is their Majestic Cruiser, so we'll send the Justice against it, just cause we can.

The Compulsor and Spectre, Zenith sqadrons (B-Wings) should take out both of their Bothan Assault Cruisers.

Epic Squadron (Missile Boat) and Turbulence Squadron (Scimitar Assault Bomber), escorted by Inferno Squadron (T/A) will take out their Interdictor.

The Legacy and Dagger Squadron (T/D) will take out their Agave Picket Ship.

Our two Lancers will target their bomber squadrons to make sure that they stay away from out capital ships. After the bombers have been killed, they will work with our remaining fighter squadrons on destroying all enemy fighters.

This is where Empire at War is going to come in handy. :P

We need a strong arm to hammer down their supply chain, before we think about anything. It's all about the money. Knock out their cash flow, and it will set up a more realistic game plan for us.

I agree with Andan!
cut off a snake's head and the body will die.
Without their Majestic, they'll be scattered, devided and leaderles.

Taig is right, we need to cut off their supply lines, but do we know where they are? If we don't then I would go with Crix.

(Sorry if I sound retarded, I have never done this before :P)

Cutting off the cash flow would be a good idea if this were to be a prolonged battle, or even siege, in which we'd want to prevent them from drawing more forces. In this battleplan, there will be no reinforcements.

Crix's idea works well, is there anything else we need?

Well, I was going to put my name in to help out, but it seems like you guys have everything well in hand. Crix, stop being so good at this. :P

Anything in particular the group wants me to look at?

Well, since the space war doesn't appear to be much of a problem, lets look at ground combat. the Peace Brigade was here to stay, so they would have set up shop and expected to defend the planet. And I would like to avoid a traditional ground war instead, seeing as though an insurgent war is more prevalent to our times and likely considering the situation.

Hmm, are we only able to use the resources/ships that Halc gave us via the O:SJ website? Or can we use other stuff? Like for ground combat, we could send in a platoon of Taldryan non-force sensitive infantry, get the attention of the peace brigades infantry, and while we have them occupied with our troops, do a fly by with some TIE Bombers or something similar.
Now, once the bulk of the infantry is taken out, we can then send in a few task forces of our Jedi. That is just one Idea, involving infantry. How ever, if we want to spare using up troops, we could always do the whole;

all of the Krath meat in a capital ship that is orbiting the planet and prepare spell to scramble Peace Brigades communications(Just an Idea) while the Sith bombard the hell out of their said 'fortress' followed by the Obelisk jumping in there and creating the Havoc they are known for. Again, these are just Ideas, so we can change them in any way we want.

I don't think we really need to focus on a the ground aspect. I think it's pretty much assumed that once we take out their fleet, we ostensibly obtain control of the system.

Now, I'm not going to talk too much about strategy, but more the presentation of our plan.

I don't know of anyone that's decent with flash animation, but that's really the fanciest way to present one of these things. For now, I think something like a power point is optimal. We're not just going to write out a long document on how we're going to do this, we need images, maps, etc. Get things like blueprints or cross-sections of ships and mark points that we'd like to take out such as a communications array or shield generator with a squad of marines. Think Battlefront II's space combat.

We're going to need to have a primary plan of action, but also a contingency. If somehow things don't go as planned in our scenario, what's our backup? We'll need multiple rendezvous points and need to determine the order of ships bailing out of the battle.

I'll post more on what my actual opinions of strategy are later on, I just want to make sure we have a clear, concise, and presentable battle plan that doesn't look like someone typed up in a day on Mircrosoft Word.

I can stick figure draw this bitch.

Other than that, it's a no go from me.

Go go gadget Vodo gfx?

I would, but I don't have Photoshop anymore, so no go.

OK, what we need and when:

CRIX: we need that rough draft of the space battle by Wednesday if possible. As per Sklib's orders, we need a focus on targeting priorities and battle specifics more than tactics.

Erin: proceed with the Ground battle for now, but lets really see you pound the message home in on the poor bastards the Peace Brigade landed. Nothing thats unreal, but we want it to feel like overkill.

Post your drafts here, I'll edit them, along with anyone who wants to gain some participation points, and we'll polish it off before turning it in.

well i have a idea for the Ground battle as far as space, the only thing i can say is try to surround them and also try and cut them off in the middle as well. Divide and conquer. some times it works some times it doesn't. I don't know what the Fleet consist of since i have not looked (thats my fault), but i wouldn't put all the Fighters out there out once, id keep some back for re-enforcements. I have played too many internet games in the past (CCS, Call of duty, etc.) where people throw all there fighters out there and get slaughtered just by the enemy having a few of there own in the back waiting. Think about the movie The Patriot with Mel gibsion, in the end he manged to get the British to follow him and when they popped the hill that was it. If we could Pull something like that i think we would get some good creative points. Well thats my thoughts anyway.

Alright, running into a problem with the ground portion of the battle: namely, there are no ground forces listed for either side on the Feud page. I can make do for our side with the info on the Tal site, of course, but it's going to be awfully hard to come up with a battle plan without knowing who we're fighting.

Is it just me, or does it seem like the space battle is the only thing the BP is supposed to include?

Vodo

The space battle is the only thing it 'HAS' to include. We're adding the ground portion so that we have an edge up. Halc said that we have to determine the enemy forces on our own, based upon a logical reasoning. I came to the number of about 1460 pirate troops based upon the numbers of soldiers carried by each of the enemy ships. You can double check that number (which I recommend seeing as though I summoned that number from memory).

And seeing as though Crix is MIA, I will be taking over the space battle.

Lets see the writing sometime soon!
