The Rituals and Trials of Ektrosis Through the Ranks of the Journeymen:
The Ektrosian Trials

Progress in Taldryan and throughout the Brotherhood is often measured by rank and as such the higher-ranking members are considered far greater and more powerful. Even our Grand Master, Darth Jac Cotelin, was an Apprentice in the Brotherhood at one point in time. But I digress. This is about the training of you, possibly a future leader in Ektrosis, Taldryan, or the Brotherhood.

Some of you will be deemed unworthy and will be proven to be useless to the Brotherhood, to be discarded and to forever dwell among the Rogues. My goal is to ensure that none of you will be caught in that trap and that even the weakest members that I command will be more powerful than the strongest in any other Krath House.
As person completes these tasks they will be duly awarded with promotions and will progress swiftly through the beginning ranks. As set down by former Quaestor Dark Sabre, these rituals will bring even the lowliest Apprentice to Jedi Hunter, the pinnacle of power before the coveted rank of Dark Jedi Knight.

Welcome, young one, I look forward to completing your training.

From Jedi Hunter to Dark Jedi Knight
Recommended Time Requirement: Three months at Jedi Hunter rank

Complete one of the objectives to obtain the rank of Dark Jedi Knight

• Objective: You will be placed into a Battle Team as Battle Team Leader (BTL). You must lead your Battle Team for at least three months. You must also provide multiple competitions, have regular reports, promote activity in your Battle Team, and keep good communication with the members of your Battle Team. You may also be called upon to work with the House Summit to solve problems with: members, the Dark Jedi Trials, competitions, and many other unforeseen problems.

Please note that three months is the minimum amount of time that the Summit feels is necessary to earn a promotion to DJK through this Trial. Once the three month mark comes up the Summit will evaluate the BTL and decide if their performance warrants a promotion at that time. If the person is not promoted right then, they may be reconsidered at any time until they have done an amount of work that justifies the promotion. Holding a position outside of the house in conjunction with working as a BTL may decrease the time needed for the promotion if the proper steps are taken. Anyone wishing to do this needs to talk to the Summit before taking the position so the details can be worked out.

• Objective: You will be appointed Assistant Envoy of House Ektrosis. Your job will be to assist our House Envoy in greeting and guiding new members through our Dark Jedi Trials. You will need to do the following, give weekly updates to the House Envoy on the status of the members you are helping, work with the rest of the summit on improving the Dark Jedi Trials when unforeseen problems arise, be able to take over for the House Envoy when he/she is called away from us for an extended period of time (this is only the case for those that have been Assist Envoy for good amount of time).

• Objective: If a member wishes to complete a special project they must first speak with the house summit and either ask for ideas or present any of their own. The summit will either approve or deny the request based on factors such as the length of the project, the amount of work involved, etc. A member may have to undertake several projects in order to achieve the rank of Dark Jedi Knight. This is to ensure equity between all Knight promotions within Ektrosis. Some projects that have been approved include:

• Working as a Praetor or Magistrate to a Dark Counselor (time required for promotion depends on the amount of work that the member does in this office).
• Serving as an ACC Judge for an extended period of time.
• Compose a course for the SA, and work with the HM to edit it until it is ready for use. Act as EP for that course for an extended period of time.

This list is by no means inclusive; it is simply a list of examples that have been approved. A member is encouraged to come to the summit with any project that they feel is reasonably equal in work load and responsibility to what is listed. If a project requires less work then the standard then the member may be required to do a little extra for their promotion, but on the other hand if a project requires more work then the standard they may be eligible for promotion sooner then usual.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

All submissions and competition entries sent to the summit should be zipped or compressed. All work completed for a promotion must fulfill the expectations of the House summit to be considered complete. These are only guidelines; consistent examples of good activity may override one or more of the options, but that is at the discretion of the Quaestor and Aedile with the advice of the Envoy, Assistant Envoy who is working with the member and the member's Battle Team Leader. The tasks that a Dark Jedi completes for a promotion in rank will not count for any other rank. Send notification of all completed objectives to pimpmadine@gmail.com, adm6388@gmail.com and lady.alanna@btinternet.com

1Shadow Academy courses that are being counted for a promotion must be taken between the last promotion received and the promotion which they count for.

2Graphic submissions must be of a decent quality and show that the person submitting them spent a fair amount of time on the work. It does not have to be a masterpiece, but stick figures made in Paint will not cut it.

3All competition entries must be sent to the QUA and AED before the objective will be considered complete. Also, competitions where CFs were earned will not count for this objective because of the DB's rules against double awarding.
