...all the Person X vs. Person Y debates? The first few were interesting, but it's gotten kinda boring. It seems like people just throw opinions back and forth, backed up by the 'it's just my opinion' defence.
This isn't a 'wtf, you guys suck' post, I really am interested in why people keep starting those topics and keep them going.

To me it's a step above total spam.
Sure - It's fun to debate about who was more powerful or a better fighter, comparing people who never met (or even knew of each other in most cases). It's interesting to see the varied opinions on how certain characters interact.
For some members these are actually the best postings they make, but they aren't great. I mean, yeah it gets people talking but it's about as worthwhile as the one-word run-on's.
