JA Servers: What do you want them to be?

Right now we have JA+ on both Antei and Kr'Tal. I've heard enough complaining about them over the past few months, agree with some of it. My question is what would you want to switch to mod-wise or just go pure even, or stay as is? I'm not as knowledgeable enough about the JA mods to suggest anything, that's why I'm asking you guys. If you use the servers and want to voice your opinion, please do so. Thanks all.

I want at least one server to be pure. No mods, no extra maps, no tweaked sabre damage, NOTHING.

If you want to have on mod-filled, map-ish pile of garbage too, go ahead, I just wont use it if we have a clean server.

I completley agree with Merlance, at least one server should be pure.

One server should be pure definetly. JA+ just ruins the fun.

I would like this map to be put on the servers. It's a very simple map and it loads in an instant.

Now I can't say I play JA a lot but I'd still like to see a pure server as well.

I want to see JAE...none of the gameplay tweaking that marrs JA+. Just more admin options.

Dessan says JAE is not allowed by current hosts. But if we could I would rather have JAE over JA+ Pure would be the second choice

Base is fine, JA+ is worse but it makes no difference to me. Make em all base

Personally I think we should have one server PURE and keep the other JA+, I don't know much about this JAE but I will look into it and see what I can find out about it

Honestly, I dont see anything wron with JA+, but I agree we should have one pure server and one JA+ server. AND we should start adding better maps, like thesithcouncilv2 is dam awesome. And if we ever do an RPG type thing then we could use rpg_jedipyramid2 which is a really cool map with a jail and city and a Jedi Temple. Honestly, im getting sick and tired of the_academy2 as it is really boring with nothing thats fun to do.

Could someone tell me whats wrong with JA+? (answers like "its BS and it just is weird" wont cut it for me)

The thing about having a clean server is the simple fact that there would be absoluting no administrative options for most of our admins (Only Duga Smoke and I have RCON access). Secondly that would also mean that the immidate action taken by the admin would be a kick followed by a ban. I would be more willing to entertain switching both servers to a diffrent (less conreversal by way of damages) Mod, JAE would be my favorite choice, however our server hosting compnay did not wish it to be used. I asked them before the mod was released (as I was one of the testers for the mod) and they wanted to wait for it to be released then wait a few months after that to make sure that they hadn't heard of any major bugs. I'll talk to them about it again.

As far as maps go.... eh I do believe one server should have no extra maps and keep the extras to the other, I believe thats basicly how its set up now.... I would love to see a racing map, and I'll look into frostys.

You know the JO server has been without admin options like in JA+ for years, back when Kir ran it. I don't really see a huge problem with that. All the extra admin features are nice, but aren't the end-all of what we should go with. I'm fine with a pure server and another for JA+ and whatever custom stuff people want. Well, when I say that I don't mean adding tons of crap. More like try out a few things, if people like them keep them, if not try something else, etc. etc.

I'm all for trying stuff, just thought I'd throw that out there, plus I never see problems with the JO players really (minus the ara event). The JA players seem to like to insigate more from time to time thats about it. Eather way I wouldn't mind a base JA server.

I'm partial to the SJC maps but I know it's unrealistic to ask people to download 280MB worth of custom maps... but they do look cool.

Will a base JA server reset shields/health for duels and such? I know JO didn't and that was why we originally used admin mods that tweaked gameplay.

We didn't want that so Ben coded DBMod which offers the dueling fix and doesn't tweak the base gameplay. I don't think he can do that for JA though.

If someone with VC7 coded a mod to include the duel reset without changing the rest of the gameplay that would be best. Otherwise you'll have to use a crappy admin mod to keep matches fair... too many dishonest people about for that.

once i get JA up and running again, i would like to see/use the Forcemod_III thing. You get to use abunch of different classes and species, new weapons and such. Droids, Yuuzhan Vong, Gun Guns, and much much more...

Even though I lost my JA disc, I still agree that one server should be pure and the other a modded server (JA+, JAE, whatever).

TO be honest I agree with Yilith, I dont see anything wrong with JA+, just that people dont like the few problems that come with it. Everygame has problems, and probly every mod too.

It's not hard to have one pure, and one modded. I've found the JA+ stuff to be fairly annoying myself and would enjoy a more clean presentation

Pure servers arent very handy for duels.

reasons being: only 1 duel per time...no health regeneration for each duel and ofcourse, damage fluctuations.

JA+ is very handy for server works, but not for personal gains.

in english:

JA+ on servers = good

JA+ for your own = bad

JA+ server + Pure player = good <--- the rules are bend to see to good dueling, without 90%of the bugs

JA+ server + JA+ player = bad <--- causes bugs like damage screwups and other not coolness

Truth is that if one is base JA (what you people call pure though in JA talk pure means something different lol), That server does not reset health, shields or anything after a duel.

I can't reinstall and I don't have JA+, but I did remove all the unecesary pk3s. I did head in and it kicks me out the server. Any more suggestions?
