Does anyone other than me think about what would have happened if Mace Windu killed Palpatine right before Anakin got there?

What would, could have happened?

I think that the clones would have realized that "Order 66" would not be given, that it was happening right then. They would have killed many Jedi, a massacre to be certain, but would not have killed NEARLY as many as in the movies.

What do you think?

Somehow I think Anakin would have still corssed over to the Dark Side, and probably used the Clones to carry out his revenge for the Jedi's lack of compassion. I think he would have generalized the actions of Mace to apply to the entire Council - he was already pretty pissed at them for 'holding him back'.

I think Order 66 would have surfaced.

The question is did Anakin know about Order 66 before Palpatine issued it?

No, I don't think he did. I do believe he would have somehow stumbled upon it though, because if Palpatine was defeated by Windu, Palpatine probably would have foreseen it and left clues leading Anakin to the Sith Lord's plans.

Palpatine's plans would not have outlasted him. And I doubt anyone other than him had knowledge of Order 66. If Mace had killed him that day, the Jedi would've taken over the Senate and, without Palpatine's covert manipulations, Anakin would most likely have stayed in line. And in this scenario, Padme, with twins on the way, still lives, so she remains the calming center point in his life.

I reckon Anakin would have given into the Dark Side completely as soon as Palpatine was killed. After all, in Anakin's mind, Windu would have just killed the only chance Anakin has of saving Padme's life. He would probably have taken the clones on a revolt against the Jedi Council,and Order 66 would have happened, but Anakin wouldn't have known that it was order 66...

im agree the dark side in Anakin was strige i really doubt if Palpatiene were killed he were jus a good boy again, if we think about it Anaking always was like a rebel so...

I think he would have crossed anyway. He had way too much emotion to be a proper Jedi.

the daft thing is that order 66 was created for the film and is in no part of the back story, but personaly the more darksiders the better, then the NJO would never need to be written cos the jedi would be one and the vong wouldnt have a hope

Same here Mace Windu is too much of a Bada$$ to pwned by a knight even one as powerful as anakin and you gotta think Mace was on his way on kicking Palps ass even more than yoda had, and Palps had surprise on his side the first fight

as much anger that was in anakin yes I agree he would have crossed over anyway. and yeah I don't think he would have stood a chance against mace alone nore Palpatine either for that matter
