"Attacking the Clones" Scoring
----------------------------------

GENERAL NOTES

*Despite how complicated the scoring system is (as you'll see below), the scoring system is designed such that by merely participating, you get a guaranteed 50 points for yourself. Depending on how good your submissions are, it is designed such that the first place finishers will end up getting close to, but no higher than 100 points.

* This competition is designed to promote competition over skill. We want participation, and the point system reflects that.

SCORING SYSTEM

*All fiction, poetry, and graphics event submissions will be judged by Manesh, Muz, and Sildrin. They will rate submissions on a holistic scale from 0-20.

*That score, through the magic of statistics, will be renormalized such that the average score from that judge for each event will get 50 points, "below average" submissions will also get 50 points, and "above average" submissions will get over 50 points, but at most 100 points.

*The normalized scores from all three judges will be averaged, producing the participant's final score for the event.

EXAMPLE

*ACO Jack submits to the Round One Fiction event, Muz gives him 13 points, I give him 10 points, and Sildrin gives him 10 points.

*Let's say there were 5 submissions to the fiction round one event. Muz gave them grades of 18, 13, 11, 9, and 2. So, Muz gave ACO Jack 2nd place. Renormalized, those scores are 92, 67, 53, 38, and 5. These numbers are basically percentiles. So, ACO Jack's normalized score from Muz is 67 points. Let's say that normalized, Jack gets 60 points from me and 50 points from Sildrin. Jack's final Round One Fiction Score is 59.

*To Summarize (for ACO Jack):

Raw Score From Muz (0-20 scale) = 13
Normalized Score From Muz (0-100 scale) = 67
Normalized Score From Manesh = 60
Normalized Score From Sildrin = 50
Final Fiction Round Score = (67+60+50)/3 = 59

GAMING

*We will use a points system for gaming as follows:

JO/JA => 3 points for a win, 1 point for a loss
BF/BF2/RC => 4 points for a win, 2 points for a loss
XvT/XWA/Allegiance => 5 points for a win, 3 points for a loss
SWGB/EAW => 7 points for a win, 4 points for a loss

*Everybody will be ranked based on final point totals. It will be very similar to a system used during the recent Rite of Supremacy. For example, if there were 20 gamers, 1st place would get 20 points, 2nd would get 19 points, and so on. And then we'd normalize like mentioned above.

*I'll mention here that you can only play members of the other house in gaming. If there is a situation where there aren't enough available gamers to make this work, we'll revise as necessary.

ACC

*We're still working on this.
