Mailing List and Announcement List

With the recent realms of discussion about the ammount of traffic on our mailing list, the idea has come up to have two mailing lists for the clan. They would both be on googlegroups.

The first mailing list would be an announcement-only mailing list, which every member of the clan would be subscribed too. Only members of the Clan Summit (CON, PCON, RM, QUAs, AEDs, and the Clan Envoy) would be able to post initial topics. Replies to those messages would either be moderated (if a truly relevant reply), or, otherwise, be directed to the second clan mailing list for discussion. This list would be used for clan wide announcements, reports, ect. Unlike the currentl system, where a "So and So Promoted" email can turn into 50 emails, only the promotion would go over the mailing list, and subsequent replies would be directed to the the secondary mailing list. This list would also contain a short footer message on each post, advertising the main mailing list, trying to encourage those interested to join in the discussions.

The second mailing list would basically be the list we currently have, which membership on would be optional. This would allow those who do not appreciate the heavy email load the option of opting out of the Clan Mailing List, without having a fear of missing any important or relevant imformation.

This decision hasen't been made yet, hence the creation of a poll to find the usefulness of this to the clan.

Just a comment on this, what happens if a report is posted on a "serious" list and discussion starts about one of the topics which becomes spam in the end?

Any replies to the serious list will be moderated if they try to send them to the serious list, if not they'll go to the non-serious list.
