I tried going on irc at like 1:00pm and nobody was there! Maybe I just go on at the wrong times..

There is always somebody in #Arcona.

Make sure you are connecting on the Undernet server and that you join #Arcona and #DB. Go to http://www.darkjedibrotherhood.com/dbjedi/irc_guide.asp and that gives a step-by-step run down.
