Can you do the cg on Xbox Live? On the subject of IRC, do I have to pay for it?

The DB does not support XBox Live in competitions, but many members do use it.

On the subject of IRC its free, if you download the MIRC client it will ask you to pay after the first 30 days I belive. But if you don't it will still work you will just have to wait an extra 5 seconds for the program to load.

Last time it kicked me out! any specific reason why?

It sometimes takes a few tries for it connect. One of the options should allows you to "reconnect upon disconnection" or something along those lines. Also check to see that your firewall isn't blocking it (if you do have one working)
