ACC Eraser Competition
- Signup Phase: 15 November to 22 November 2006
- Competition Run Time: 25 November to 30 December 2006
- Hall Name: Eraser Competition
- Open To: Qualified ACC members who possess at least 1 loss on their
record
- Tallies: Wins and Loses will NOT count on your record
- Post Time Limit: 7 days
- Battle Length: 6+2
- Weapons: Any that your character possesses skill in
By winning battles in this competition, you will be entitled to the removal
of losses from your current record. One win equals the removal of one loss.
However, this won't be for free, there are specific Rules of Engagement that
must be followed, which cover all the ins and outs of the competition. After the
Signup Phase, all participants will be thrown into a "pool" or "static list"
from which challenges will be made. The actual act of signing up will be exactly
like you would for a ladder (i.e. use the "ladder" link in the ACC) and signup
to "Eraser Signups" - but this is not going to be a ladder. I will manually pull
the PINs of those that signed up and create a static list of participants you
will go by.
Rules of Engagement
- Challenging
- Combatants may only challenge those with equal or greater losses
than themselves
- for the purposes of this comp, all
records are face-value until the end of the comp
- a person with a 2/3 record who wins 3
battles is still a 2/3 record holder until the competition’s
conclusion
- Combatants may only challenge people (within this comp) who are
listed in the pool
- if an individual has been removed, they
can no longer be challenged
- the 'static list'/pool, when created
and/or edited, is the official list of valid participants
- Combatants can only fight the same opponent one time throughout the
duration of the competition
- combatants may have as many battles
going (at once) that they can handle
- Combatants must accept or decline challenges within 72 hours
of the notification
- failure to do so will see the combatant's
'removal' from the competition
- combatants may only decline challenges if
they have a minimum of 4 battles running “active”
- waiting to be judged, unknown or closed
are not active, but waiting for an introduction from a staff member
is active
- The Competition
- To count for removal of a loss from a person's record, battle wins
must come from the judgment of a completed battle
- for this competition, a "win" is
defined as a victory gained from a completed battle that has been
rated by a staff member
- combatants who time-out will be
'removed' from the competition
- victims of an individual who times out
will not earn a 'win', gaining a Cluster of Fire instead
- Once involved in the competition, combatants cannot 'quit'
- if they attain a number of wins
sufficient to 'erase' their loses, they must still remain in the
competition to be challenged by others
- if combatants 'quit' the competition,
they will be 'removed' from it as well
- Battles that are active at the end of the competition will be
allowed to finish
- provided that 4 total posts (not
including the intro) have been made
- new challenges will not be allowed
- 'open' battles that fail to meet the 4
post minimum will be closed and no 'wins' will be awarded
- Removal from the Competition
- To be 'removed' means that an individual will be taken off of the
"static list" and forbidden from participating
- None of their "wins" will be counted toward the removal of a loss
from their record
- Battles that are still active will be closed and not permitted to
continue
- Opponents will be awarded a cluster of fire instead of having a
'win' granted
