Welcome one and all to the Out of Character Thread for Shards!
Here I will be detailing the standards by which this competition shall be judged and the top three Posters awarded Fourth Level Crescents. (Yes, i'll check with Dash and see if 18 through cross houses is enough for Thirds you greedy people!)
- First, let me remind you that this is to be rated R, minus nudity, swearing, and sexual content. Those three are to be rated PG-13.
Second of all, this will be judged according to ACC rules. The only portion of that you may ignore is the Annotations for Force Powers. Though if your writing is not up to snuff, I, Kal, Eiko, and Xen reserve the right to request that you do so for clarity purposes.
This will be run in Standard Format +250. To those of you new to Run Ons, what does that mean?
Once you post, you must wait at least three posts before posting again. your posts must be at least 250 words or more.
Remember to grammar AND spell check your posts. If you're not sure it's good enough, post it here. Or run it past someone else involved via EMail.
We are running on a tight schedule of one week cycles. You get two missed posts in all of five weeks. You miss more than that and you're out, and someone else (most likely Kal) will write you from that time forward. I suggest not letting him do that as he is trying to kill us all, or at least maim us. We're not sure and he's not telling.
Furthermore, this is considered CANON. This is not the ACC, where it never happened. What happens here is expected to be reflected in your Wiki's and your personal histories. So be careful not to get hurt too badly.

The only person who reserves the right to be late is Kal. He has done a tremendous amount of writing to make this happen, and has promised to be within 24hours of his deadlines. As such, if he is running more than 12 hours late, I will extend the posting deadline by 1 (read it ONE) 24 hour time period. All times will be judged in EST. For those of you across the pond, please be aware of the fact that this is currently GMT-4.
Quality counts more than Quantity! I'd rather have a perfect 250 word post, than a monstrous 1000 word piece of junk. Keep it good!
When in doubt, bug the ACC judges or Oberst. I may ask him to sit in judgement on this whole thing. If that happens, you'd better be ready for the judgement of all judgements, as no one overrides Oberst (Master of the Dark Savant Writing Course).
Remember to keep it contiguous. No fragmenting, no posting about something happening before the person before you. Posting about something happening at the same time is fine IF YOU'RE IN THE OTHER GROUP! DO NOT DO SO IN THE SAME GROUP!
We will start in three groups, merge into one, and split again later down the line. Pay attention to the fictions provided by Kal. THEY WILL BE IMPORTANT!
Disable Your Signatures as you post. Never Post in quick reply, always use the full form!
Do not Edit your post after another has posted. You only have until they post to do so.
You get a twelve hour hold for called posts. Any longer than that and it will be deleted.
This is supposed to be fun. So when the time comes, have at it. If you screw up, apologize, ask for help. and we'll go from there.

I suggest that we maybe post a list of the various characters - listing up what clan they're in, species and perhaps link to their CS...
Makes it easier to write if able to get info fast :p

Ladies and gents, we are nearing the end of "week one". Kal will be posting the next fiction intro Friday at 12 am EST to kick it off. I'm trying to bring the rest of Plagueis posts into line. Please make sure that you guys get yours in as well.
The evil eye in the sky(yes, I'm the little floating hand that kept screwing you over in Zelda) is currently working on the intro for "Week Two". I'd like to remind everyone here that what I write is not debatable; it is the setting, and therefore its rules will be judging criteria.
Week One, having been extended already due to high activity, saw twenty posts. Can we double that number in Week Two?
