Second Battle Team For Dinaari

What do you guys think? Should we get someone to make a new battleteam in our house?

I can't speak for the leadership of the house, but I think what we need to do right now is concentrate on doing the most we can with the battle team we have now. If things go well with it and we get some more active people in the house it is a definate possibility for the future.

However, while it looks like we have a good number of people in the house, not many of those people are actually active on a day-to-day basis, especially in the lower ranks. This is one of that DFB aims to help fix. If we get a higher percentage of our new people active we will almost be forced to open a new team, which would be a good problem to have :P

Jaysen basically covered it. There's no real point in having tons of battleteams. I know other Clans like to have 3 per House but they're full of inactive members and are rarely, if ever, led by someone competent.

Until there is such a rise in member activity and we find a suitable member to take on the DJK trial (by leading a battleteam) it we'll stick with just Dark Fire.

Ah, yes, you guys have great points! Well, explained. :$

You guys need to relize that the reason we are inactive in the lower ranks is because we have no reason to use our knowledge about the brotherhood or about star wars, come up with more exciting reasons to be on battle teams and more people will join, although you did cover the the topic very well. :D

As much I support Battleteams ...I'm against using Battleteams unless you have a really good reason to start one.

The last thing members need is another addition to the chain of command. We already have too many with the Envoy, then the AED, then the QUA for about 30 people...half of which are actually inactive because we let certain members idle because they 'paid their dues'.

To be honest, more could be done to make the House members active if the House Summit just took the place by the balls and shook us around a bit. As I've said, there really aren't many of us and 3 people should be able to do the job. I've not really felt all the inspired to take part in anything recently. I'm presuming others haven't either.

There just seems to be a small bunch of boring competitions with little reward or recognition. If you're not on IRC 24/7 then it's hard to see any activity or don't know whats going on. I see little trying to do anything new or varied from the usual ('coz no one will take part' isn't a reason ...stuff it, keep trying anyway). No attempts at getting regular members involved in the development of the House (barring this topic).

Making a new Battleteam to inject a bit more activity isn't going to do it.

Sorry to say it as I see it. Just felt it was time to say. The House doesn't suck and we're still up their with the best ...but we're supposed to be awesome.

It's also my personal opinion that the Envoy system makes Battleteams obsolete. Battleteams should be used to keep a close eye on a few members, while letting the leaders have a bit of work and responsibility to train them up. You get the bonus of a bit of rivalry and more people being trained up at the same time.

If I ruled the world I'd get shot of the Envoys and return power and dignity to the Battleteams. But it's all or nothing to use them properly.

The only other reason to have a Battleteam is to focus on a certain field of interest, get more activity in that one area and get specialised help and training in that area.

OK, lets wake up a one year old topic

Sure, with the job of the envoys the battleteams aren't really nessesary anymore. Maybe to give new leaders a chance to train their leadership skills without the danger to make bigger damage.

Sure Dinaari didn't had so much tradition with Battleteams as other houses doesn't mean Battleteams are useless. In Ekky or other clans Battleteams seem to work, so you can't say Battleteams are obsolete in general. Sure the Envoy has a similar function for the new house members as the Battleteam leader for the members of the Battleteam, but the Battleteam proved it's function over years now. Sure the Envoy has overtaken most of the duties meanwhile, but sometimes it's better having more then one person asigned to a duty, especially if things don't work out optimally.

As for the battle team that is existing already, it is used for training the members of house dinaari, the second battle team could be for the uses of a normal battle team don't u think?

A valid point, however we'll only open a new one when we think its wise...which is not the case atm...perhaps in the future, when our member base is a bit more established and solid...

Even when I asked this question there wasn't enough activity in the house to justify adding another battleteam, and it was just a question...

(P.S. Michael, the ironic thing is....I started this topic, back when I was an ACO...now I'm one of the ones making these kinds of decisions...*shudders* scaaary to think about)

Well, my intention was more to reply to Werdna's recent post then discussing a request from 2005.

Well, interesting idea Kaidoz, but my experiance in the house Dinaari for the last years is that DJKs and above usually don't hang around in battleteams anymore.

(Well, Odium, I guess this is one of the typical jokes fate plays with everyone that brings you in deniing you own request. well, fate and the lack of new topics on this board O-) )

I am a NOV, i am active in the day to day activities of the house. Im trying to get on the Dark Fire Brigade but I cant find the application for it.
And envoys are needed. I had no idea what to do when i first started and Vlad help me a lot. We need to keep the envoys as well as try and get the rest of the lower ranks more active. But how............. :ermm:

This is a very old thread you posted on, and Vlad is the Dinaari envoy :P You don't really fill out an application for Battleteams - just try emailing the battle team leader, or the AED/QUA.

How come in house Dinaari, the threads are all old just about. It seems that they would purge the system. :ermm: but, thats just me. Im on the Dark Fire Brigade, is there a run on at all?
