It was pretty cool in my opinion. I liked how they went in depth and looked at the sources that Lucas used to create his story
I thought it did a very good job showing how star wars is connected to our history and why it has such a felt and profound impact. I admit I knew most of the mythology connections already
I had an English/Drama teacher who was a huge star wars fan and taught about the mythology connections. Best Class ever....

I enjoyed it, though I already knew a lot of it too. I was actually kind of surprised... the commercials showed a direct connection to samurai films but it was only very briefly mentioned.
There are a couple of samurai films that seem to be paralelled in the first Star Wars film. I'll have to do some quick research later, but I remember reading about two Kurosawa films with some direct similarities to A New Hope... one involved rescuing a princess from a fortress, the other had some slap-stick like tag along characters that mirrored 3P0/R2.

Yea I remember hearing about that and kind of wondered (due to the commercials) as to why less samurai influences were mentioned. Still it was awesome stuff

Indeed. Vader's helm in ANH was insipred by a Japanese helm (Kabuto?) as well as German style 'sallet' helms.

It's a very nice thing to have.. One I've been too lazy to buy and still miss nearly every good show I want to watch when I have to work.
