Star Wars Episode 7-9

Any one know what is going on with the rumors of Star Wars Episode 7, 8, 9.

I have heard that Peter Mayhew has sined on for three more Star Wars movies after Episode 3.

Lies, people say that George wrote three more movies, but he wouldn't. I wouldn't pay a penny to go and see them either. One, they'd have to happen after RotJ, and any of those movies with the original stars would out-right suck. Second, he's already got books, comics, toys, and now two/maybe three TV shows to live off of. As if he needed the money before. There's no way in hell he'll make another full-length movie, and if he does I'd give up Star Wars completely and go worship something else

Mayhew might have been thought to be part of the upcoming live action show. Since it takes place between ROTS and ANH, Chewbacca could be a character they encounter.

As for sequels 7-9... Thrawn trilogy could be one movie. Jedi Academy Trilogy could be another. Other than those I can't think of what might be decent.

I highly doubt they'd be done though. Lucas said he has no interest in that kind of thing. He wants to make his corny artsy films after Indy 4 is done.

Expect sutff from GL to be American Graffiti 1138, a feelgood coming of age story knee deep in shrouded political statements. :P

I think a movie based on KOTOR and/or KOTOR 2 would be great

Maybe, but George would never do it, and I doubt he'll give the rights over to anyone else until he dies.

And that would be a good thing because I doubt anyone would ever be able to even compare to the Star Wars legacy that he's built.

Yes, though I also found it ironic how the movie most people say is the best of the saga (ESB) was the only movie that he wasn't the head director on. He only produced and co-directed that one.

*snickers*

Well, what he created is truly amazing. I mean, look at the empire, no, universe that has formed from a simple idea that probably came in a dream or something. Just, wow

Not precisely. He's always stated that Ep.s 1-6 are the series in total of that story line. But he's alluded many times to the possibility of additional features set in the SW universe with new characters, most likely directed and even written by others. But the foreseeable future of the SW franchise is not in film but TV:

"Untitled Star Wars TV Series" (2007)

Well, originally George intended to write movies for SW from 1-9, but honestly, I think he just got bored. I think thats why some people dislike 1-3 because he possibly just got a little bit sloppy and bored of the movies.

Theres a TV series coming out, and theres more cartoons coming out too. But other than that read up.

You're all missing one big point here: Lucas has kids. Who honestly thinks that once dear old daddy George dies, whatever-their-names-are-Lucas won't work on making more movies. Yes, George is sick of making movies, but children often follow in their parent's footsteps. And with footsteps as big and famous, not to mention wealthy, as George's, who wouldn't want to follow them to greatness?

And as far as reading goes, I read something about Star Wars branching into adult novels. If they'll make a porno novel about it, I don't think a few more PG-Rated movies are fully out of the question.

The day there is Star Wars porn, is the day I swim in a pool of concrete.

Somehow I don't think it means porn. Adult content doesn't always mean that - it could just be getting more violent or cover heavier topics like addicition.

Kal

25-08-2006 18:07:58

Some of that, but I read there will be a few sexual matters as well. The quote from the guy who is writing the first R rated Star Wars novel was "The Star Wars Universe has been around for about thirty years, long enough for our readers to learn that there's more to it than comic books and action figures," or something like that. Anyway, I read that he proposed writing an adult novel about a slave girl on Tatooine to Lucas, and he said yes to it.

I hope his kids don't try and continue it on with movies. I still think there shouldn't be anymore movies. Have TV shows, but no more movies. Plus, I really don't know how Star Wars will continue on after Mr. Lucas dies. I mean, his kids MIGHT try and do something, but I doubt it. I know he wants to hand off the TV shows to other people after one season or w/e, and I'm sure books can continue on without him, but either way Star Wars won't be the same with George Lucas

Kal

You never know about the movies. They may appeal to a whole new generation. the movie thing is a 50/50 shot. Either they're surprisingly good, or they suck a-word.

i think it would be really cool if they made movies about some other group of force users. why must it be just jedi and sith? there are so many others out there. witches of dathomir, night sisters, even rakata would be cool. i have read some scripts for 7-9, but they are on supershadow, so they are probably fake. i have also heard rumors that george lucas is going to let his kids do some more stuff within his lifetime. and even if his kids made some movies, and they sucked bad, i would still go and see them. definitely.

There is too much money and interest in this for something to not happen.

Will it be horrible? Prabably, Star Wars is special to so many people for so many reasons and, as a result, people project their own feelings and personalities, even values, upon the plot, the characters, ... everything. That makes it real hard to please anyone at this point.

That notwithstanding, will we all go see it and continue to be devoted to it? Hell yeah!!!

I wouldn't mind seeing Sith kill Jedi at anytime. anyway I just want to know more about the TV series. anyone have more details?

Yeah, the animated 3-D is set for 2007, while the live action show is set for 2008. George has hand in both right now, mainly just getting them started before handing it over to someone else...

I'm not one to call people stupid (ok, well, I am.) but...have you people completely forgotten about the Jedi Knight Series? Kyle Katarn?

RING ANY BELLS?!

That's make for an awesome movie in itself. Or Three. :D
