In what ways did Anakin bring balance to the force

Lucian

11-09-2005 12:22:38

ok everybody has thier different theory as to how he brought balance mine is he killed all of the arrogant dumbass jedi most say its when he killed palps

Malik

11-09-2005 14:06:29

he killed most jedi so there were two jedi and two sith left, that's balance :P

Diablos

13-09-2005 16:55:56

I would say it was when he killed Palps, but i'm an idiot.

Drodik alTor

13-09-2005 22:57:42

he killed most jedi so there were two jedi and two sith left, that's balance :P

thats what I always say...but I ploished it up to sound more convincing lol

Lucian

14-09-2005 15:27:10

agree to all

Ood Bnar

17-09-2005 08:46:26

i think he started bringing balance, but that he's one piece of it.

He brings the Sith out from the shadows, kills the jedi. then he kills the sith.
then his son starts a new jedi-order, one that isn't stuck in tradition (like the original order), but to have them live the force more naturally.

Diablos

17-09-2005 09:14:16

I think what you say makes a lot of sense.

Lucian

17-09-2005 11:12:18

yeah im going with that because then the jedi would be harder to turn because they can also have a normal life but then again they could be turned by the reason anakin was

Ood Bnar

17-09-2005 13:11:26

it's just one vision on the topic, only lucas knows what the real reason is

Lucian

17-09-2005 14:36:53

i think lucas should speak on these forums for like a couple hours or something that would be great

Diablos

17-09-2005 15:17:33

I agree, but it ain't ever gonna happen.

Ood Bnar

18-09-2005 04:52:27

yeah, does he even know about our existence?

(anyone saw the simpson episode where Bart and Lisa go to Skywalker-ranch to complain about the bad movies to 'little' george lucas)

Diablos

18-09-2005 06:24:52

Yeah, cosmic wars was bad!

Ood Bnar

18-09-2005 07:16:50

when the AT-AT enters and starts to read the newspaper.

Ark Dowell

18-09-2005 10:00:20

Oh, I saw that. Hilarious at some parts. Jim Jam... :P

Ood Bnar

18-09-2005 15:58:06

that is a great episode

Diablos

18-09-2005 16:01:18

Indeed it is!

Ark Dowell

18-09-2005 17:46:38

I want Jim Jam cereal.

Diablos

18-09-2005 18:50:36

I want Jar Jar to die, why do we never get what we want!

Zhilvinas

18-09-2005 19:48:59

To the original question:

I could be missing something, but is it possible that he wasn't actually the one supposed to bring balance to the force?

Halcyon

18-09-2005 22:59:00

I had heard a theory that the Prophecy meants Luke and not Anakin...they were a little ahead on the whole "The One" thing :P

Diablos

19-09-2005 17:44:40

That is plausible.

Lucian

19-09-2005 18:27:10

he was created by anakin

Diablos

20-09-2005 08:25:52

Indeed he was.

*rock the casbah*

Lucian

20-09-2005 15:16:32

very possible
by the way i like that episode espescially when at the end of the movie which didnt really have an ending comic book guys like "worst episode ever....i will only see it 3 more times.....today

Diablos

20-09-2005 17:33:48

Yeah that was funny.

Ood Bnar

23-09-2005 13:10:20

but, if anakin didn't turn to the dark side. he would never have been in the position to destroy the emperor

Diablos

23-09-2005 14:59:03

can't really say that for certain.

Ood Bnar

24-09-2005 06:31:05

it is said in "children of the jedi" i believe. that only vader was in the position to destroy palpatine

Lucian

24-09-2005 14:25:31

could he not have done it when he ignited his lightsaber in palpatine's office?

Ood Bnar

25-09-2005 04:12:30

i think palpatine was prepared for that, he already implied to anakin that he was the only one who could save padme

Lucian

26-09-2005 17:03:07

thats true in more ways than one he encouraged anakin to believe she would die without his help, causing anakin to turn, causing padme's death

Diablos

26-09-2005 17:29:21

Palps is so clever!

Lucian

27-09-2005 18:53:14

in the end not clever enough like the ep 3 book and i quote palps "sometimes it's the ones we care about the most that we cannot see"

Diablos

28-09-2005 09:58:20

so profound.

Lucian

28-09-2005 16:16:02

o yeah

Diablos

28-09-2005 16:49:19

he's great ain't he? palps i mean.

Lucian

29-09-2005 17:01:50

yeah pretty hidious, sidious

Diablos

29-09-2005 17:37:22

lol, i like that. :)

Ood Bnar

30-09-2005 13:52:53

good! palps is a man of insider tricks and sneaky manipulations!

he dominated the universe from since he became Supreme Chancellor and only 15 to 20 years later the jedi realised they where the tool of the sith

Diablos

30-09-2005 15:47:32

Palps is an inspiration to us all.

Ood Bnar

30-09-2005 17:14:50

palps is our rolemodel

Diablos

01-10-2005 07:12:50

damn right!

Ood Bnar

01-10-2005 11:04:16

we are eternally in his debt

Diablos

01-10-2005 12:45:40

It pains me to admit that i am in somebody's debt, but yes, you are right.

Lucian

01-10-2005 12:53:08

yes in debt we are

Ood Bnar

01-10-2005 16:05:31

only through the dark side we can repay this debt

Lucian

01-10-2005 17:25:13

and in the process achieve what he could not

Ood Bnar

02-10-2005 09:32:18

and dedicate it as an eternal monument to him

Lucian

02-10-2005 16:17:16

and not make his mistakes

Ood Bnar

02-10-2005 16:18:48

and by that, show him that he is our rolemodel

*goes to build a Palpatine-shrine*

Lucian

02-10-2005 16:20:07

yeah a bronze bust

Ood Bnar

02-10-2005 16:23:05

A marble one!

Lucian

03-10-2005 19:27:36

both a marble statue and a bronze bust or vice versa

Diablos

06-10-2005 16:25:18

I nominate white gold.

Lucian

06-10-2005 16:40:40

platinum

Lucian

06-10-2005 16:41:02

with diamond eyes

Ood Bnar

08-10-2005 05:29:49

A diamond shrine for the bust

Anakin brought balance to the Force by destroying Sidious in "The Return Of The Jedi"..

MichaelArkarso

12-10-2005 05:18:31

That's a typical prophethy with no content, like:

One time one man will do one thing that will change a lot for some time.

You can also put up the idea yoda or obi or mace or even palpetine would be the one that brought balance to the force and start discussing through which actions they did that :w00t:

Shamash

13-10-2005 08:53:44

Yes you could, but the story isn't about them.:D

Lucian

14-10-2005 15:02:05

in many ways did he balance the force

Ood Bnar

14-10-2005 16:59:56

the story revolves around the skywalkers, so they are the ones that will probately be the ones mentionned in the prophecy

Lucian

15-10-2005 15:40:07

specifically?

Ood Bnar

15-10-2005 17:17:14

The basic premise of the prophecy was that a being would be born of the Force, seemingly brought into the world simply by the presence of midi-chlorians. The Chosen One would be born to a mother who was not naturally impregnated, a conception enacted by the will of the Force. This being would be incredibly connected to the Force, with a high level of skills even before training. This balance, however, could only be achieved after a period in which the Dark Side of the Force grew strong. According to the larger prophecy, the dark times would literally unfold across the galaxy, and the Chosen One would be born in their midst. Eventually, the prophecy proclaimed that the Chosen One will bring balance to the Force throughout the galaxy. Jedi historians often overlooked the fact that the legend never said anything about the Chosen One actually being a Jedi Knight. The legend simply stated that the Chosen One would bring balance to the Force. Qui-Gon Jinn rightly believed that he had found the Chosen One when he discovered Anakin Skywalker on Tatooine. The Jedi Order, however, refused to fully accept the presence of Anakin as the Chosen One. The Jedi Council had insulated itself so far from the galaxy that they were unaware of the rise to power of Darth Sidious. Ultimately, Qui-Gon was proven correct, although the entire galaxy suffered for it. Anakin eventually became Darth Vader, and the Jedi Knights were nearly exterminated, leaving two Sith - Darth Sidious and Darth Vader - and two Jedi Knights - Obi-Wan Kenobi and Yoda. However, Sidious' power continued to grow, a factor not explicitly covered in the legends. As the Emperor gained power, first Obi-Wan and then Yoda died, leaving just Anakin's son Luke as the sole Jedi Knight. Luke's strength in the Force brought Anakin into contact with his son at the Battle of Endor, where Anakin fulfilled his destiny by destroying Darth Sidious. The deaths of Yoda and Sidious, along with Anakin's return to the Light Side of the Force, eliminated the imbalance caused years earlier. Luke's own new Jedi Order recognized that the Force was not simply light and dark, but a single entity comprised of both good and evil.
