Those in the Clan will know that I have decided to return to my work as a Clan Elder. I apologise for my lack of presence in this crucial area, and I regret its taken me so long to figure that out.
I had a small list of key issues that I wanted to work on as Consul. Knowing my luck for positions, I won't actually get Consul until the entire Clan goes inactive, so instead I'm going to post my wishlist for everyone to add to. Whoever becomes the next Consul can then read through this thread and address the issues accordingly.

My wishlist:
-Discuss the re-opening of Galeres, and how it could affect the Clan.
-Discuss solutions to the current state of House Qel-Droma.
-Tweak the Promotional Guidelines to address some issues about selfishness and Clan loyalty.
+Construct a new Clan website. (Edit: Old one is back - thanks
)
-Incorporate my Legacy Project materials into said website.
-Promote and encourage the growth and strengthening of Clan Arcona.

I wish that we could screen the newbs... you know ask them to give an estimate of how active they plan to be, then give them a trial period to see if they'll live up to it! I guess being the BT leader of the newbie squad has opened my eyes to just how much we have deteriorated in the past months! I wish we had enough members where we could kick a few more AWOL people out... Oh well, Viva Las Vegas Baby!

For however long I remember, the percentage of newbies who become inactive has always been very high. In the EH, this was offset by the fact many of those recruited were already active in other Sub-groups. Much of Arcona was made up for members who's primary activities were in other places...so we already knew that they were active and could be active.
Now, everyone has that problem. Other Clans haven't shown the hit in numbers however since they don't do "real" AWOL checks. Taldryan appears to be one of the few others who actually do kick out the inactives.
So, remember, focus on those who show any glimmers of being alive and kick out those who do nothing

What "others" do you mean? Other Clans? The decision for placing members in Clans is up to the HeadMaster/MAA people and not the individual Clans themselves.

We actually do get quite a few INIs from the Shadow Academy, and most of them are Sith, but less than half of them finish the Test of Lore and join the Clan, let alone stick around afterwards. Those that do, lose interest fast because there's nothing to do.

New member placement is controlled by the database. That's what project "Dark Fury" is all about. There are some bugs in it, but for the most part we all get our share of new members... most are just random people who sign up for no reason than never do anything again. Concentrate on weeding out the useless and utilizing those few new members that show a real interest in the DB.

I've asked the House Summits to run an AWOL check and send me the results. I've also asked them to run some competitions, especially after the OROS ends. We need to keep some fun going at all times, and not die in the arse just because a Vendetta shows up.
I'm not too happy, but, first month... cant expect everything to be solved at the wave of a magic wand.

I did like 9 tests, 2 ACC battles and still had to join the MB's to make it. Since then I hardly go a day without getting on here. It looks good to my master and I'm not complaining! We have a Consul in Denath. Applications were open for ProConsul which we are still waiting on an announcement for.
Consul = Overall head of the Clan
Proconsul = Second in command of the Clan.
Think of the relationship between and Quaestor and Aedile, except over all houses in a Clan, rather than an individual house.

When I was in Clan Plageius, I got like 15 emails a day, mostly due to stupid spammers who write back this to the entire clan: haha, or something stupid like that. but my quastor, Godo Nurok, always had really good and funny reports. I do miss that. Clan P. was really good about keeping their members informed and greeting them when they joined.

Spam in the Spam Boards not the Clan Boards.
If you choose not to listen you may well find your ability to post gone for a few days, if that doesn't teach you, you might find your post count gone, and if all else fails you might find your MB account gone.

Every single 'Discussion' spam topic you have here, could just as easily be in the Spam Forums.

Because it has the most useless spam. Activity for the sake of activity is crap. Smart and productive activity for the sake of activity is what's needed.
Spamming isn't smart or productive. It's stupid and deconstructive. Nothing you point out can prove me wrong, because I used to be a big-time spammer several years back, and I know how it doesn't help.

If you want to be active for the sake of Arcona why dont you do a comp, Get on IRC, help younger members? That is "productive" activity. The DB is ALOT more then the Message Boards why dont you try to be a part of it more?

Well, I don't appear alot on the MB or IRC nowadays. School's really busy for me. Aaarrrrgh, who cares about the hypotenuse of a right triangle anyway...
And Spammin' does give Post Counts. I used to looove collectin' them on nearly a half a dozen Forums. Wierd, eh?
But, yeah, y'all have a point. We should Spam a little less. -_-

What I don't understand is this. If this site is for fun, like a gaming community for people who like star wars and RPing, why the hell would some people get soooo serious about it? It's a game, people. This is for dun. If it stops being fun, you will lose people. GET OVER IT! I understand that spam may be annoying to you, but come on people. Get over your selves! You can kick me out, but that won't do anything for ya. You will be able to say, "I showed him!" but I can just get back on under a different name.
I'm not trying to "diss you" or offend you. All I'm trying to say is that people shouldn't get all worked up over a game.

The Forum HAS a spam board for one. For two when you flood our topics it keeps people from seeing the IMPORTANT information not the post that consists of two words "Shut Up" example.. that's just ridiculous.
The DB is ALL about fun and when I post something of importance and I have to add DO NOT SPAM in it that kills my fun. HAve you thought about that or just yourself? there are people that dont like to sift through the forums to find what they need it should be right there for them to see such as answers to questions and what not. The SPAM boards I repeat the SPAM boards are there for a reason, why not use them?
You guy's are more then welcome to have fun on the forums just do it in better taste. Dont flood the topics. It's a simple request that should of gotten a simple response. You can either stop on your own which is what I would like to see or we can get an angry Spears who will end it personally which is not what I want to see. Initially the choice is yours, choose wisely.
If you would like to "boost" the post count for Arcona "I have no idea why" but if you do why dont you ask Denath to make a SPAM topic in Arcona so that you can still do your so called conversations.
Also IRC is a good tool to use and you get a response almost immediately it's like actually having a conversation with someone imagine that!
So check it out. Just a thought.

As Quejo said, this board is for EVERYONE. There are Spam boards specifically made for doing whatever you wish. We have asked nicely numerous times for the spam to just stop.
I had even said just to have one topic for spam left if you guys really needed it (even thought you have an entire forum dedicated to it).
No one is "against" you. You were asked to just stop a lot of times. You continued to persist and have now turned around and made this into some sort of personal grudge. It isn't.
Many of us enjoy using the Clan forum as a way to actually communicate with others. Many of you don't use IRC. Hence, this is another good form of communication. We cannot however do that when all of the topics become spam and conversation between two or three people. It doesn't work like that.
And in the end, you can only fault yourself. How many people have asked you to stop? How many times was it said to just use the Spam forum as that is why it was made in the first place? Do not try and push this onto others. Everyone wants to have fun. There is a place here for everyone. It's that simple

Look, I wasn't saying I won't stop spamming. In fact I have asked several people to drop several forums and meet me on the SPAM boards. I was just pissed that Spears kicked me off of the boards for a day.
Every time I DO get on IRC, no one is on. What's the point. They are always away or just off.
I agree that we should limit the spamming and I have been trying to help. That is why I got pissed off. You kicked off the one spammer that was trying to stop the spamming. Check out a few of the boards. My last posts, for the most part, ask people to drop the board.
Whatever.
