A New Love part 1
[This fiction is set during Kalak’s time with the Malkite poisoners]
Kalak stepped into the cool room and glanced round. Calmana Sinclaire was sitting at a table in the corner of the sparsely lit room, her raven black hair flicked back round her neck. She turned as he walked to the desk and gave him a warm smile. His heart flipped and he sat down.
“Hi Kalak.” she said.
“Hello Calmana. How are you?” he said.
“I’m well thank you. Today we will be studying the effects and make up of the necrolion blood poison.” She pointed at a certain section of the battered book that was on the desk. “It’s written in Ithorese, is that a problem?” she asked.
Kalak shook his head. “No, I’m fluent in it.”
For the next half an hour, the two pored over the tome. Kalak looked up and gazed at Calmana. She raised her head sensing that her student’s attention was not on their work. When she saw Kalak looking at her she flushed like a delicate rose that has just bloomed. She quickly bent her head back down to look at the book and Kalak sighed internally. He turned his attention back to the book. After they had finished the lesson, Calmana decided that Kalak needed to know how to produce the poison so they began to prepare it.
The potion was at last ready. It was a grey brown colour and smelt like the wind on Dac. As they sat back down, Calmana noticed that Kalak was looking at her again. She looked back at him and put her arm round the Falleen, drawing him close and kissing him deeply and passionately. They left the room and quietly made their way to Calmana’s quarters.
** 3 hours later **
Kalak left the poison mistress’s quarters and began to make his way back towards his own Spartan room. His heart was still beating wildly. He slipped through the shadows quietly and soon arrived. As he entered, the realisation of what had happened hit him. He leapt into the air, displaying an unusual amount of emotion for a Falleen. He walked into his bedroom and quietly fell into a light trance.
